"The best holiday I've ever had"

The best holiday I’ve ever had was in La Serena, in a summer 10 years ago. With my family and family’s best friend. In a start, we travel from Santiago on the highway with our van, 450 kilometres, to the north, passing for villages like Los Vilos, Guanaqueros, Tongoy, Totoralillo, among other. We rent a house in the city of Coquimbo, capital of the fourth region of Chile. In the house were seven people, my mom, my dad, my Little brother, I, my friend, his mom and his sister. Which made it very entertaining.

During the day, we went to the beach all together, played cards, “beach tenis”, swam in the sea and walked around the coast. It was wonderful because we ate all days a special beach meal called “Empanadas de Camaron con Queso”, which traslated is like, "Empanada with shrimp with cheese". In the afternoon we returned to the house and prepared a barbeque or a nice other meal.

One of the beauties of north’s Chile is the blue sky full of shiny stars. So, we went to a astronomy observatory with everybody. First we climb the hills and arrived to a very old village called Andacollo. In the observatory, with a giant telescope an instructor told us we put the eye in the lens and told everybody if we could watch something. When was my turn, I saw like a picture from a planet; it was Jupiter!!! My first time I saw a planet with a telescope and was the greatest planet of our galaxy, I was so excited.

In the other days we went to the truck races, we galloped on horseback on the beach and went to buy a pretty things from the city. I loved La Serena, it´s a really wonderful place to summering.
